Marc Geelhoed is the CSO Resound coordinator for the Chicago Symphony Orchestra. In that capacity, he works with each administrative department to facilitate the production of the CSO's live recordings on its in-house recording label CSO Resound. Thus far, those compact discs and downloads have featured conductors Bernard Haitink, Myung-Whun Chung, and Alan Gilbert, and have been produced by James Mallinson and David Frost.
Prior to joining the CSO administration, he was associate music editor and classical music writer for the weekly magazine Time Out Chicago, and contributed to Slate, the New Statesman, and the Financial Times. He also wrote for many newspapers in the Midwest.
An active runner, Geelhoed ran his first marathon in 2006, and is also an avid reader of fiction and history.
He earned a BA in Music, with a focus on trumpet, from Butler University in 2000 and graduated with an MA in Musicology from Indiana University in 2003.
